Fuel Level Sensor Input Low (Sticking)

Possible Causes:



Fuel level sending unit signal circuit shorted to VREF
 
Fuel level sending unit signal circuit shorted to system power
 
Fuel level sensing unit is damaged or the fuel tank is damaged
 
BCM or PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0463



Fuel Level Sensor Input High (Sticking)

Possible Causes:



Fuel level sending unit signal circuit shorted to VREF
 
Fuel level sending unit signal circuit shorted to system power
 
Fuel level sensing unit is damaged or the fuel tank is damaged
 
BCM or PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0464



Fuel Level Sensor -A- Circuit Intermittent

Possible Causes:



Contact resistance in connectors
 
Short to battery in fuel level (FLS) circuit
 
Faulty ECM

Vehicle Speed Sensor Performance

Possible Causes:



VSS signal circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
VSS signal circuit is shorted to VREF or to system power (B+)
 
VSS is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed

Idle Speed Lower Than Expected

Possible Causes:



High resistance between the main relay and IAC valve
 
High resistance between PCM and IAC valve control circuits
 
IAC valve is damaged or has failed
 
The throttle plate is carbon fouled (it may need to be cleaned)

Idle Speed Higher Than Expected

Possible Causes:



High resistance between the main relay and IAC valve
 
High resistance between PCM and IAC valve control circuits
 
IAC valve is damaged or has failed
 
Intake air leak located below the throttle plate assembly

Battery Backup Line Circuit Malfunction

Possible Causes:



Battery backup circuit to the PCM is open
 
Battery backup fuse to the PCM is open or missing
 
Battery backup circuit to the PCM has high resistance
 
PCM has failed

System Voltage Unstable

Possible Causes:



Charging system problem (charging voltage interrupted)
 
Backup voltage circuit to the PCM open (intermittent fault)
 
PCM has failed

System Voltage Low Input

Possible Causes:



Charging system problem (charging voltage too low)
 
Battery backup circuit to the PCM has high resistance
 
Backup voltage circuit to the PCM open (intermittent fault)
 
PCM has failed

Possible Causes:



Charging system problem (charging voltage too high)
 
Backup voltage circuit to the PCM open (intermittent fault)

Possible Causes:



Poor terminal contact at the ECM ISC Backup Voltage circuit
 
PCM or TCM has an internal problem or has failed

PCM or TCM Internal Random Access Memory Error

Possible Causes:



Poor terminal contact at the ECM Backup Voltage circuit
 
PCM or TCM has an internal problem or has failed

PCM (Internal Controller) ROM Error

Possible Causes:



Clear the trouble codes and retest for this trouble code. If the same trouble code resets, the PCM has failed and must be replaced to repair this problem.

VIN Not Programmed Or Incompatible- ECM/PCMECM

Possible Causes:



PCM is new and has not yet been programmed
 
Faulty PCM

MIL "bulb" is damaged or missing
