Lower Control Arms

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Raise the front of the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
  4.  
  5. Remove the front wheel and tire from front hub.
  6.  
  7. Remove the lower arm ball joint mounting bolts.
  8.  
  9. Remove the lower arm mounting bolts.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the lower arm mounting bolts. Tighten to:

    A bushing: 74-88 ft. lbs. (100-120 Nm) 
     
    G bushing: 103-118 ft. lbs. (140-160 Nm) 
     

  2.  
  3. Install the lower arm ball joint mounting bolts. Tighten to 74-88 ft. lbs. (100-120 Nm) 
  4.  
  5. Install the front wheel and tire on the front hub. Tighten to 66-81 ft. lbs. (90-110 Nm) 
  6.  

Bushing Replacement



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Lower control arm assembly
     
    Secure the control arm in a vise
     
    Using a standard press, remove the bushing
     

  4.  

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    Lubricate the new bushing and press it into the lower control arm
     
    lower control arm to the vehicle
     

  2.  
  3. Check the wheel alignment and adjust if necessary.
  4.
