  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the front seats as follows:
    1. Remove the front driver seat mounting bolts.
    2.  
    3. Tilt the seat rearward for access to seat wiring.
    4.  
    5. Open the connector box and disconnect the seat wiring.
    6.  
    7. Remove the drivers front seat.
    8.  
    9. Repeat the procedure for the passenger side.
    10.

  7. Remove the instrument cluster as follows:
    1. Tilt the steering column down.
    2.  
    3. After disconnecting the trip sensor connector, remove the cluster fascia panel.
    4.  
    5. Remove the four instrument cluster mounting screws.
    6.  
    7. Tilt the cluster forward and from the rear of the cluster assembly, disconnect the three electrical connectors.
    8.  
    9. Remove the instrument cluster from the instrument panel.

  9. Remove the center trim panel, audio assembly and heater control as follows:
    1. Using a suitable pry tool at points shown (A).
      NOTE
      When prying with a with a metal pry tool, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.

    3. Carefully release the retaining clips (B).
    4.  
    5. Pull the panel from the dash so that the electrical connectors at the rear of the panel can be accessed.
    6.  
    7. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the HVAC control panel.
    8.  
    9. Remove the center panel trim with the HVAC control panel attached.
    10.  
    11. Remove the audio assembly mounting screws and pull the unit forward.
    12.  
    13. At the rear of the audio unit, disconnect the antenna and audio assembly electrical connector.
    14.  
    15. Remove the audio assembly.

  11. Remove the glove box as follows:
    1. Disconnect the air damper (A) and guide (B) from the glove box(C).

    3. Disconnect the pin (A), then remove the glove box(B).

  13. Remove the screw from the passenger side front pillar trim and using a suitable pry tool, carefully remove the trim panel.

  15. Remove the two retaining screws and remove the passenger crash panel side cover.
  16.  
  17. Remove the two retaining screws and remove the passenger side lower side cover.

  19. Remove the two retaining screws and remove the driver side lower side cover.

  21. Remove the lower crash panel as follows:
    1. Disconnect the hood release cable from the hood release handle.
    2.  
    3. Remove the three retaining screws.
    4.  
    5. Carefully pull the panel away from the instrument panel and release the five retaining clips.
    6.  
    7. Remove the lower crash pad panel (A).

  23. Using a suitable pry tool, release the four retaining clips and remove driver crash panel side cover.

  25. Remove the screw from the drivers side front pillar trim and using a suitable pry tool, carefully remove the trim panel.
  26.  
  27. Following proper procedures, remove the steering wheel.

  29. Disconnect the passenger-s air bag connector (A).
  30.  
  31. Remove the ten mounting bolts and one nut and remove the main crash pad (B).

To install:

  1. Install the main crash panel. Secure in place with the mounting bolts and one nut, then tighten the fasteners to 5-8 ft. lbs. (7-11 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Connect the passenger-s air bag connector (A).
  4.  
  5. Following proper procedures, install the steering wheel.
  6.  
  7. Install the drivers side front pillar trim panel.
  8.  
  9. Install driver crash panel side cover.
  10.  
  11. Install the lower crash pad panel.
  12.  
  13. Connect the hood release cable to the hood release handle.
  14.  
  15. Install the driver side lower side cover.
  16.  
  17. Install the passenger side lower side cover.
  18.  
  19. Install the passenger crash panel side cover.
  20.  
  21. Install the passenger side front pillar trim panel.
  22.  
  23. Install the glove box.
  24.  
  25. Connect the antenna and wiring harness to the audio assembly and install the audio unit.
  26.  
  27. Connect the electrical connectors to the HVAC control panel and install the center trim panel.
  28.  
  29. Connect the 3 electrical connectors to the instrument cluster and install the cluster assembly.
  30.  
  31. Install the cluster fascia panel.
  32.  
  33. Connect the seat wiring and install the front seats. Tighten the mounting bolts to 32-48 ft. lbs. (43-64 Nm).
  34.  
  35. Connect the negative battery cable.
  36.
