Removal & Installation



Specific to:

Lexus LS400 1990-1994

  1. Drain out high pressure fluid
    1. Remove the air cleaner.
    2.  
    3. Connect a vinyl tube to the TRAC actuator bleeder plug, then loosen the bleeder plug.
    4.  
    5. When the fluid has flowed out, tighten the bleeder plug.
      CAUTION
      Since the fluid is under high pressure, it could spray out with great force, so be careful.

  3. Disconnect and connect brake lines
    1. Using SST (SST 09751-36011), disconnect and connect the brake lines from the actuator. Tighten the lines to 132 inch lbs. (15 Nm).

  5. Bleed brake system and TRAC system.

To install:

  1. Bleed brake system and TRAC system
  2.  
  3. Connect and connect brake lines
    1. Using SST (SST 09751-36011), connect and connect the brake lines to the actuator. Tighten the lines to 132 inch lbs. (15 Nm).
      CAUTION
      Since the fluid is under high pressure, it could spray out with great force, so be careful.

  5. Fill high pressure fluid.
    1. When the fluid has flowed out, tighten the bleeder plug.
    2.  
    3. Connect a vinyl tube to the TRAC actuator bleeder plug, then tighten the bleeder plug.

    5. Install the air cleaner.

Specific to:

Lexus LS400 1995-1996

  1. Remove air cleaner assembly and air cleaner inlet.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect brake lines
  4.  
  5. Using SST (SST 09023-00100), disconnect the 4 brake lines from TRAC actuator.
    1. Disconnect the brake hose from the rake line of the actuator.
    2.

  7. Remove TRAC actuator assembly
    1. Disconnect the connector from the actuator.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 2 bolts and nut from the body and ABS actuator bracket.
    4.  

  8.  
  9. Disconnect the brake line clamp from TRAC actuator bracket, then remove the TRAC actuator assembly.
  10.  
  11. Remove TRAC actuator
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and actuator bracket from the actuator.
    2.  
    3. Using SST (SST 09751-36011), Remove the brake line from the actuator.

To install:

  1. Install TRAC actuator.
    1. Using SST (SST 09751-36011), install the brake line to the actuator. Tighten to 132 inch lb. (15 Nm).
    2.  
    3. Install the 3 bolts and actuator bracket to the actuator. Tighten to 108 inch lb. (13 Nm).

  3. Install TRAC actuator assembly.
  4.  
  5. Connect the brake line clamp to TRAC actuator bracket, then install the TRAC actuator assembly.
    1. Install the 2 bolts and nut from the body and ABS actuator bracket. Tighten to14 ft. lb. (19 Nm).

    3. Connect the connector to the actuator.
    4.

  7. Install air cleaner assembly and air cleaner inlet.
  8.  
  9. Connect brake lines.
    1. Connect the brake hose to the rake line of the actuator.
    2.  

  10.  
  11. Using SST (SST 09023-00100), connect the 4 brake lines to TRAC actuator. Tighten to 132 inch lb. (15 Nm).
  12.  
  13. After installation, fill brake reservoir with brake fluid and bleed brake system.
  14.  
  15. Check for fluid leakage
