Removal & Installation

  1. Discharge refrigerant from refrigeration system
  2.  
  3. Remove blower unit
  4.  
  5. Disconnect liquid and suction tubes from a/c unit outlet fittings
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the both tubes. Tighten bolts to 84 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
      NOTE
      Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

  7. Disconnect equalizer tube from EPR
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the tube. Tighten bolt to 84 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
      NOTE
      Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

  9. Remove liquid tube and suction tubes from evaporator
    1. Pry out the packing.
    2.  
    3. Using a hexagon wrench, remove the 3 bolts and tubes.
      NOTE
      Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

  11. Remove expansion valve
    1. Pry out the packing.
    2.  
    3. Remove the holder and disconnect the heat sensing tube.
    4.  
    5. Loosen the 3 nuts and remove the expansion valve. Tight nuts to the following specifications:

      14 mm nut : 84 inch lbs. (10 Nm)
       
      19 mm nut : 120 inch lbs. (14 Nm)
       
      24 mm nut : 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm)

To install:


NOTE
At the time of installation, lubricate 3 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the valve.

  1. Install expansion valve
    1. Tighten the 3 nuts and install the expansion valve. Tighten nuts to the following specifications:

      14 mm nut : 84 inch lbs. (10 Nm)
       
      19 mm nut : 120 inch lbs. (14 Nm)
       
      24 mm nut : 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm)

    3. Install the holder and disconnect the heat sensing tube.
      NOTE
      At the time of installation, please refer to the following item. Do not reuse the packing.

    5. Push in the packing.
      NOTE
      At the time of installation, lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes.


      NOTE
      Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

  3. Install liquid tube and suction tubes to evaporator
    1. Using a hexagon wrench, install the 3 bolts and tubes.
      NOTE
      At the time of installation, please refer to the following item. Do not reuse the packing.

    3. Push in the packing.

  5. Connect equalizer tube from EPR
    1. Install the bolt and connect the tube. Tighten bolt to 84 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
      NOTE
      At the time of installation, lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes.

  7. Connect liquid and suction tubes to A/C unit outlet fittings
    1. Install the 2 bolts and connect both tubes. Tighten bolts to 84 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
      NOTE
      At the time of installation, lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes.

  9. Install blower unit
  10.  
  11. Charge refrigerant to refrigeration system
    NOTE
    At the time of installation, evacuate air from refrigeration system. Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant. Specified amount : 24.69 ± 1.76 oz.
