Removal & Installation



  1. Remove the following parts:
    1. No .1 under cover
    2.  
    3. End pad
    4.  
    5. No.1 safety pad
    6.  
    7. No .2 heater to register duct
    8.  
    9. Scuff plate
    10.

  3. Remove parking brake pedal assembly
    1. Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 2 bolts, and disconnect the parking brake release lever from the safety pad.
    4.  
    5. Remove the pin clip and pull out the pin from the parking brake wire.
    6.  
    7. Remove the clip, and disconnect the parking brake wire.
    8.  
    9. Remove the bolt, 3 nuts and parking brake pedal assembly.

  5. Remove parking brake pedal cover
  6.  
  7. Remove parking brake switch
  8.  
  9. Remove parking brake release wire
  10.  
  11. Remove shock absorber
  12.  
  13. Remove parking brake pedal
    1. Remove the bolt, nut, 2 bushings, collar and pedal.
    2.

  15. If necessary, adjust shock absorber
    1. Loosen the union lock nut.
    2.  
    3. Install the shock absorber to the pin on the pedal bracket side, then extend the piston rod fully.
    4.  
    5. Return the pedal until it hits the cushion.
    6.  
    7. Make adjustments so that the shock absorber-s union and the pin on the pedal side are aligned, then turn the union one turn counterclockwise.
    8.  
    9. Install the shock absorber to the pedal and torque the lock nut.

To install:

  1. If necessary, adjust shock absorber.
    1. Install the shock absorber to the pedal and torque the lock nut. Tighten the nut to 108 inch lbs. (13 Nm).
    2.  
    3. Make adjustments so that the shock absorber-s union and the pin on the pedal side are aligned, then turn the union one turn counterclockwise.
    4.  
    5. Return the pedal until it hits the cushion.
    6.  
    7. Install the shock absorber to the pin on the pedal bracket side, then extend the piston rod fully.
    8.  
    9. Tighten the union lock nut.
    10.

  3. Install parking brake pedal
    1. Install the bolt, nut, 2 bushings, collar and pedal. Tighten the nut and bolt to 24 ft. lbs. (32 Nm).

  5. Install shock absorber
  6.  
  7. Install parking brake release wire
  8.  
  9. Install parking brake switch
  10.  
  11. Install parking brake pedal cover
  12.  
  13. Install parking brake pedal assembly
    1. Install the bolt, 3 nuts and parking brake pedal assembly. Tighten the nuts and bolt to 108 inch lbs. (13 Nm).
    2.  
    3. Install the clip, and disconnect the parking brake wire.
    4.  
    5. Install the pin clip and pull out the pin from the parking brake wire.
    6.  
    7. Install the 2 bolts, and disconnect the parking brake release lever from the safety pad. Tighten the botls to 48 inch lbs. (5.4 Nm).
    8.  
    9. Connect the parking brake switch connector.
    10.

  15. Install the following parts:
    1. Scuff plate
    2.  
    3. No .2 heater to register duct
    4.  
    5. No.1 safety pad
    6.  
    7. End pad
    8.  
    9. No .1 under cover
    10.
