  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait 90 seconds before doing any further work while the airbag system de-energizes.
  4.  
  5. Remove the A/C control panel assembly as follows:


    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 clips and 3 claws.
    2.  
    3. Pull out the air conditioner control panel assembly, then disconnect the connectors.

  7. Remove the heater control housing sub-assembly as follows:


    1. Remove the 4 screws.
    2.  
    3. Release the 4 fitting claws, disconnect the heater control housing sub-assembly.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect the wiring connector, remove the heater control housing sub-assembly.
    6.

To install:

  1. Install the heater control housing sub-assembly as follows:


    1. Connect the wiring connector and to the heater control housing sub-assembly.
    2.  
    3. Engage the 4 fitting claws of the heater control housing sub-assembly.
    4.  
    5. Install the 4 screws.
    6.

  3. Install the A/C control panel assembly as follows:


    1. Plug in wiring connectors and install the air conditioner control panel assembly.
    2.  
    3. Engage the 5 clips and 3 claws.
    4.

  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6.  

Grand Cherokee



  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the center bezel from the instrument panel and place it on a workbench.
  4.  
  5. Remove the screws that secure the electronic vehicle information center (EVIC) control and the A/C-heater control to the center bezel and remove the controls.
  6.  

To install:

  1. Position the A/C-heater control and the electronic vehicle information center (EVIC) control into the instrument panel center bezel .
  2.  
  3. Install the screws that secure the A/C-heater control and the EVIC control to the center bezel. Tighten the screws to 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the center bezel onto the instrument panel.
  6.  
  7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  8.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait 90 seconds before doing any further work while the airbag system de-energizes.

  5. Remove the shift lever knob by rotating the shift lever knob counterclockwise.
  6.  
  7. If equipped with automatic transmission:


    1. Remove upper No. 1 console panel garnish.
    2.  
    3. Remove upper No. 2 console panel garnish.
    4.  
    5. Remove console panel sub-assembly.
    6.  

  8.  
  9. If equipped with manual transmission:


    1. Remove rear console panel sub-assembly.
    2.  
    3. Remove front console panel sub-assembly.
    4.

  11. Remove front ash receptacle
  12.  
  13. Remove the console box register assembly.
  14.  
  15. Remove the console box.
  16.  
  17. Remove No. 3 instrument panel register assembly.
  18.  
  19. Remove the center lower instrument cluster finish panel.
  20.  
  21. Remove the integration control panel assembly (or multi-display if equipped with navigation system) and radio receiver assembly as follows:


    1. Remove the 4 bolts
    2.  
    3. Pull the integration control panel (or multi-display, if equipped with navigation system) with radio receiver assembly toward the rear of the vehicle.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect each connector and remove the panel.
    6.

  23. Disengage the connector clamp (if equipped with navigation system).

  25. Remove the mounting bolts and radio No. 1 bracket.
  26.  
  27. Remove the mounting bolts and radio No. 2 bracket.

  29. Slide the integration control panel (or multi-display) in the direction shown by the arrow to remove the radio receiver assembly.

To install:

  1. Install the radio receiver assembly as shown in the illustration.
  2.  
  3. Install the radio No. 2 and No. 1 brackets. Install and tighten the mounting bolts.
  4.  
  5. Engage the connector clamp (if equipped with navigation system).
  6.  
  7. Install the integration control panel assembly (or multi-display, if equipped with navigation system) and radio receiver assembly as follows:


    1. Connect each connector.
    2.  
    3. Install the unit assembly with the 4 bolts.
    4.  

  8.  
  9. Install the center lower instrument cluster finish panel.
  10.  
  11. Install No. 3 instrument panel register assembly.
  12.  
  13. Install the console box.
  14.  
  15. Install the console box register assembly.
  16.  
  17. Install front ash receptacle
  18.  
  19. If equipped with manual transmission:


    1. Install front console panel sub-assembly.
    2.  
    3. Install rear console panel sub-assembly.
    4.  

  20.  
  21. If equipped with automatic transmission:


    1. Install console panel sub-assembly.
    2.  
    3. Install upper No. 2 console panel garnish.
    4.  
    5. Install upper No. 1 console panel garnish.
    6.

  23. Install the shift lever knob by rotating it clockwise.
  24.  
  25. Connect the negative battery cable.
  26.  
  27. Adjust clock.

  5. Remove the center cluster finish panel as follows:


    1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the cover. Be sure to tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 2 screws.
    4.  
    5. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 clips and remove the center cluster finish panel. Be sure to tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    6.  
    7. If equipped with LEXUS navigation system, disconnect the connectors.
    8.

  7. Remove the lower center cluster finish panel as follows:


    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 clips and remove the lower center cluster finish panel. Be sure to tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    2.  
    3. Disconnect the connectors.
    4.

  9. Remove the A/C control panel assembly as follows:


    1. Remove the 4 bolts and pull out the A/C control panel assembly with radio assembly, then disconnect the connectors.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 12 screws and 2 brackets.
    4.  
    5. Separate the A/C control panel assembly and radio assembly.
    6.

To install:

  1. Install the A/C control panel assembly as follows:


    1. Join the A/C control panel assembly and radio assembly.
    2.  
    3. Install the 12 screws and 2 brackets.
    4.  
    5. Connect the connectors, push in the A/C control panel assembly with radio assembly and tighten the 4 bolts.
    6.

  3. Install the lower center cluster finish panel as follows:


    1. Connect the wiring connectors.
    2.  
    3. Install the lower center cluster finish panel and engage the 2 clips.
    4.

  5. Install the center cluster finish panel as follows:


    1. If equipped with LEXUS navigation system, connect the wiring connectors.
    2.  
    3. Install the center cluster finish panel and engage the 4 clips.
    4.  
    5. Install the 2 screws and install the cover
    6.

  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.  

LS 400



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait 90 seconds before doing any further work while the airbag system de-energizes.
  4.  
  5. Using a screwdriver, carefully disengage the 6 clips to remove the cluster finish panel. Be sure to tape the screwdriver tip before use. Disconnect the connector.
  6.  
  7. Using a screwdriver, remove the No.2 register by carefully disengaging the top clip. Be sure to tape the screwdriver tip before use. Disconnect the connector.

  9. Remove the 4 bolts and pull out the A/C control panel assembly, then disconnect the connectors.
  10.  
  11. If equipped with Electrical Multi Vision, perform the following:


    1. Remove the 8 bolts, 2 screws and 2 brackets.
    2.  
    3. Separate the A/C control panel assembly, radio and A/C amplifier.
    4.

  13. If NOT equipped with Electrical Multi Vision, remove the 2 screws and A/C control panel assembly from the radio.
  14.  

To install:

  1. If NOT equipped with Electrical Multi Vision, join the A/C control panel assembly to the radio and tighten the 2 screws.
  2.  
  3. If equipped with Electrical Multi Vision, perform the following:


    1. Join the A/C control panel assembly, radio and A/C amplifier.
    2.  
    3. Install the 2 brackets, 2 screws and 8 bolts.
    4.  

  4.  
  5. Connect the wiring connectors, push in the Install the A/C control panel assembly and tighten the 4 bolts.
  6.  
  7. Install the No. 2 register.
  8.  
  9. Install the cluster finish panel.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait 90 seconds before doing any further work while the airbag system de-energizes.
  4.  
  5. Remove the instrument panel finish panel lower center.
  6.  
  7. Remove panel instrument cluster finish lower.
  8.  
  9. Remove the radio receiver assembly with bracket.
  10.  
  11. Remove the temperature control switch assembly as follows:


    1. Using a screwdriver, release the 2 claws and remove the temperature control switch. Be sure to tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    2.  
    3. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect the connectors.
    6.

  13. Remove the 2 bolts, release the 4 claws, and remove the integration control & panel assembly.
  14.  
  15. Remove the 4 screws and 2 heater control base brackets.
  16.  
  17. Remove the air conditioner control panel assembly by first disconnecting the connector, removing the 4 screws, and releasing the 4 claws.
  18.  

To install:

  1. Install the air conditioner control panel assembly.
  2.  
  3. Install the 2 heater control base brackets.
  4.  
  5. Install the integration control & panel assembly.
  6.  
  7. Install the temperature control switch assembly as follows:


    1. Connect the connectors.
    2.  
    3. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
    4.  
    5. Install the temperature control switch.
    6.  

  8.  
  9. Install the radio receiver assembly with bracket.
  10.  
  11. Install the panel instrument cluster finish lower.
  12.  
  13. Install the instrument panel finish panel lower center.
  14.  
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
  16.
