Possible Causes:



A/C pressure Sensor circuit is open or shorted to VREF (5v)
 
A/C pressure Sensor ground circuit is open
 
A/C pressure Sensor is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed

A/C Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Input

Possible Causes:



A/C pressure Sensor circuit is shorted to ground
 
A/C pressure Sensor power circuit is open
 
A/C pressure Sensor is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P1682



Charging System Voltage Too Low

Possible Causes:



Battery positive or Fused Ignition circuit has high resistance
 
Generator drive belt out-of-adjustment or worn out
 
Generator field circuit has a high resistance condition
 
PCM has failed

Speed Control Relay Or Driver Circuit Malfunction

Possible Causes:



S/C power supply circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
S/C dump solenoid (servo) is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed

Smart Key Immobilizer Module Invalid Key

Possible Causes:



A theft attempt may have occurred.
 
Obtain the correct key and attempt to start the vehicle
 
Do a PCM Reset function to clear the code after engine startup

No BCM Bus Messages

Possible Causes:



Data Bus circuit from BCM to the PCM is damaged or it is open
 
BCM is damaged or has failed
 
TCM unable to communicate with the TCM
 
TCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P1696



PCM EEPROM Write Operation Denied/Invalid

Possible Causes:



DRB or scan tool displays a "write" failure occurred
 
DRB or scan tool displays "write" refused a second time
 
DRB or scan tool displays SRI mileage invalid (compare the SRI mileage reading to the reading on the odometer)
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P1697



PCM Failure (EMR/SRI Mileage Not Stored)

Possible Causes:



Clear the trouble codes and retest for the same trouble code. If DTC P1697 resets, replace the PCM and then reprogram it.

No CCD Messages Received From The TCM

Possible Causes:



CCD data Bus circuit is open, shorted to ground or to power
 
TCM or the PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P1740



TCM Internal Malfunction

Possible Causes:



ATF fluid is burnt, contaminated or contains excessive debris
 
A/T cooler flow restriction or problems in the oil pump shaft
 
Internal transmission problem (O/D clutch seals or valve body)
 
Overdrive clutch or TCC clutch is damaged or has failed
 
Transmission valve body is leaking, damaged or has failed
 

Trouble Code: P1743



TCM Internal Malfunction

Possible Causes:



TCM has failed.
 
Replace the TCM
 
Perform Transmission Verification Test VER-1A

A/T Shift Solenoid 'A' Control Circuit Low Input

Possible Causes:



A/T SSA control circuit is shorted to ground
 
A/T SSA is damaged or has failed (it may be shorted)
 
PCM has failed

A/T Shift Solenoid 'A' Control Circuit High Input

Possible Causes:



A/T SSA control circuit is open between the solenoid and PCM
 
A/T SSA control circuit is shorted to system power (B+)
 
A/T SSA is damaged or has failed (it may be shorted)
 
PCM has failed

A/T Shift Solenoid 'B' Control Circuit Low Input

Possible Causes:



A/T SSB control circuit is shorted to ground
 
A/T SSB is damaged or has failed (it may be shorted)

Transmission valve body is leaking, damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed

A/T Park Neutral Switch Stuck in Park Position or In Gear

P/N switch signal circuit is open between the switch and PCM
 
P/N switch signal circuit is shorted to Sensor or chassis ground
 
P/N switch ground circuit is open (at the switch mounting point)
 
P/N switch is stuck in P/N position, or stuck in Drive position
 
P/N switch is damaged or has failed
