Brake Pads

Removal & Installation



Front & Rear
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Wheels
     
    Lower installation bolt
     
    Caliper and suspend it securely. Do NOT disconnect the fluid line.
     
    Brake pads and retainers
     

  4.  

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    2 pads so that the wear indicator plate is facing upward. Do NOT allow oil or grease to get in the rubbing face.

  3. Draw out a small amount of brake fluid from the brake reservoir. Press in the caliper piston with a suitable tool.

    Caliper. Torque the sliding main pin to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm).
     
    Wheels
     

  4.  
  5. Check the fluid level in the master cylinder and add as necessary.
  6.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.

  3. Remove the wheels.
  4.  
  5. Remove the lower installation bolt.
  6.  
  7. Lift up the caliper and suspend it securely.
  8.  
  9. Remove the brake pads and retainers.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the 2 pads so that the wear indicator plate is facing upward. Do not allow oil or grease to get in the rubbing face.
  2.  
  3. Draw out a small amount of brake fluid from the brake reservoir. Press in the caliper piston with a suitable tool.
  4.  
  5. Lower and install the caliper. Torque the sliding main pin to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Install the wheels.
  8.  
  9. Check the fluid level in the master cylinder and add as necessary.
