Power Door Locks



Removal & Installation
Door Lock Motor

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Be sure to close the window in the door. You may need to move it up or down to a certain degree for access to the door lock and wiring.
  6.  
  7. Remove all of the door trim components to access inside of the door.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the door lock connector.
  10.  
  11. Using a T30 torx wrench, remove the retaining screws and door lock assembly.
  12.  
  13. Remove the door lock through the service hole. Be careful when removing the bolts as the door lock may fall and become damaged.
  14.  
  15. Remove the door remote control cable and door inside locking cable.
  16.  

To install:

  1. Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating areas of the door lock.
  2.  
  3. Apply adhesive to the threads of the 3 screws.
  4.  
  5. Using a T30 torx wrench, install the door lock with the retaining screws. Tighten the screws to 49 inch lbs. (5.5 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Connect the door lock connector.
  8.  
  9. Install all of the door trim components.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.  

Door Lock Switch

This switch may be by itself, or part of a switch cluster assembly. In any case, the procedure still applies.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove any retaining screws, if equipped.
  6.  
  7. Using a screwdriver, pry out the door lock switch, located in the overhead console. Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the connector.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of removal.
