Brake Disc (Rotor)

Removal & Installation



  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
  4.  
  5. Remove the caliper slide bolts .
  6.  
  7. Remove caliper .
  8.  
  9. Secure caliper assembly to nearby suspension part with wire. Do not allow brake hose to support caliper weight.
  10.  
  11. Remove and discard the O-ring securing rotor to axle studs.
  12.  
  13. Remove rotor off axle studs.

To install:

  1. Install rotor on axle studs.
  2.  
  3. Install the caliper assembly.
  4.  
  5. Install caliper slide bolts.
  6.  
  7. Install wheel and tire assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove support and lower the vehicle.
  10.  
  11. Pump brake pedal until caliper pistons and brake shoes are seated.
  12.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Remove brake caliper and brake pads.
  4.  
  5. Put matchmarks on the front disc and the axle hub.
  6.  
  7. Remove the front disc.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Align the matchmarks, and install the front disc.
    NOTE
    When replacing the disc with a new one, select the installation position where the front disc has the minimum runout.

  2.  
  3. Install the brake pads and brake caliper assembly.
  4.
