Removal & Installation

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait 90 seconds before doing any further work while the airbag system de-energizes.

  5. Using a screwdriver, remove the No. 2 under cover. Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  7. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
  8.  
  9. Remove the 3 screws and blower motor.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the blower motor and tighten the 3 screws.
  2.  
  3. Connect the blower motor electrical connector.
  4.  
  5. Install the No. 2 under cover.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait 90 seconds before doing any further work while the airbag system de-energizes.
  4.  
  5. Remove the instrument panel assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove the air conditioner unit assembly. See HEATER CORE Removal & Installation procedure in this section.
  8.  
  9. Remove the blower assembly as follows:


    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2.  
    3. Remove the screw and nut.
    4.  
    5. Release the 2 claws and remove the blower assembly.
    6.

  11. Remove the damper servo sub-assembly as follows:


    1. Detach the claw and remove the lever.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 2 screws and damper servo.
    4.  

  12.  
  13. Remove the 3 screws and the blower motor.

To install:

  1. Install the blower motor to the blower unit assembly and tighten the 3 screws.
  2.  
  3. Install the damper servo sub-assembly as follows:


    1. Install the damper servo with the 2 screws.
    2.  
    3. Attach the claw and install the lever.
    4.  

  4.  
  5. Install the blower assembly as follows:


    1. Install the blower assembly with the 2 claws, screw and nut. Tighten the screw to 27 inch lbs. (3 Nm); tighten the nut to 7 ft. lbs. (10 Nm).

    3. Connect the wiring connector.
    4.  

  6.  
  7. Install the air conditioner unit assembly. See HEATER CORE Removal & Installation procedure in this section.
  8.  
  9. Install the instrument panel assembly.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait 90 seconds before doing any further work while the airbag system de-energizes.

  5. Remove the No. 2 under cover by removing the 2 clips using a clip remover and pulling the cover.
  6.  
  7. Remove the glove compartment assembly as follows:


    1. Remove the clip.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 2 caps.
    4.  
    5. Remove the 4 screws and glove compartment assembly.

  9. Lift up the front end of the carpet on the passenger side, remove the 2 nuts and the ECU cover.

  11. Remove the 2 screws and the connector bracket.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the blower motor connector.
  14.  
  15. Remove the 3 screws and the blower motor.
  16.  

To install:

  1. Install the blower motor and 3 screws.
  2.  
  3. Connect the blower motor connector.
  4.  
  5. Install the connector bracket and 2 screws.
  6.  
  7. Install the ECU cover and 2 nuts.
  8.  
  9. Install the glove compartment assembly.
  10.  
  11. Install the No. 2 under cover.
  12.  
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
  14.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait 90 seconds before doing any further work while the airbag system de-energizes.

  5. Remove the instrument panel assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 2 screws and air duct No. 2.

  9. Remove the blower assembly as follows:


    1. Disconnect the connector and clamp from the blower.
    2.  
    3. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and disconnect the connector.
    4.  
    5. Remove the 3 screws, bolt and nut.
    6.  
    7. Detach the claw and remove the blower.
    8.  

  10.  
  11. Remove the 3 screws and recirculation damper servo.
  12.  
  13. Remove the 3 screws and blower w/ fan motor.
  14.  

To install:

  1. Install blower w/ fan motor.
  2.  
  3. Install the recirculation damper servo.
  4.  
  5. Install the blower assembly.
  6.  
  7. Install air duct No. 2.
  8.  
  9. Install the instrument panel assembly.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.
