  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait 90 seconds before doing any further work while the airbag system de-energizes.

  5. Remove the No. 2 register as follows:


    1. Using a screwdriver, release the 2 clips on each side and remove the No. 2 register. Be sure to tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    2.  
    3. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  7. Remove the cluster finish panel as follows:


    1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the cluster finish panel by releasing the 4 clips at each corner of the panel. Be sure to tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    2.  
    3. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  9. Remove the 4 bolts and pull out the A/C control panel assembly with the radio, then disconnect the connectors.
  10.  
  11. Remove the 8 bolts, 2 screws and 2 brackets, then remove the A/C control panel assembly from the radio.
  12.  

To install:

  1. Join the A/C control panel assembly and radio unit to the 2 brackets, tightening the 8 bolts and 2 screws.
  2.  
  3. Install the A/C control panel assembly with the radio, engage the wiring connectors and tighten the 4 bolts.
  4.  
  5. Install the cluster finish panel as follows:


    1. Connect the electrical connector.
    2.  
    3. Install the cluster finish panel by engaging the 4 clips.
    4.  

  6.  
  7. Install the No. 2 register as follows:


    1. Connect the electrical connector.
    2.  
    3. Install the No. 2 register by engaging the 2 clips.
    4.  

  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Set the radio receiver assembly to shipment mode as follows:


    1. Remove all discs and tapes.
      NOTE
      If the discs or tapes cannot removed, do not attempt to remove them forcibly. Send the unit to a repair shop.

    2.  
    3. Turn the engine switch off.

    5. While simultaneously pressing the "SEEK UP" and "DISC" switches, turn the engine switch on (ACC).
    6.  
    7. The CD loading door indicator light blinks during mode setting and it remains lit after the setting is completed.
    8.  
    9. Turn the engine switch off.
    10.

  5. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait 90 seconds before doing any further work while the airbag system de-energizes.
  6.  
  7. Remove the front console upper panel garnish.
  8.  
  9. Remove the console upper panel assembly.
  10.  
  11. Remove the left and right instrument panel finish panel ends.

  13. Remove the control panel (multi-display) with radio receiver assembly as follows.


    1. Remove the 4 bolts.

    3. Pull the control panel (multi-display) with radio receiver to detach the 2 clips on the backside of the control panel.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect the connectors and remove the control panel with radio receiver.

  15. Confirm radio receiver assembly shipment mode setting as follows:


    1. Look at the backside of the radio receiver and check that a metal plate can be seen through the hole near the "SHIP" mark.
    2.  
    3. If a metal plate cannot be seen, perform the shipment mode setting again.
    4.

  17. Remove the No. 1 and No. 2 radio brackets by removing the 5 bolts at each bracket.
  18.  
  19. Separate the radio receiver and control panel (multi-display) aseemblies.
  20.  

To install:

  1. Join the control panel and radio receiver assembly to the 2 radio brackets and tighten the 5 bolts at each bracket
  2.  
  3. Install the control panel (multi-display) with radio receiver assembly as follows:


    1. Connect the connectors.
    2.  
    3. Insert the control panel with radio receiver and attach the 2 clips on its backside.
    4.  
    5. Install the control panel with radio receiver with the 4 bolts.
    6.

  5. Install the left and right instrument panel finish panel ends.
  6.  
  7. Install the console upper panel assembly.
  8.  
  9. Install the front console upper panel garnish.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.  
  13. Perform system initialization procedure.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait 90 seconds before doing any further work while the airbag system de-energizes.
  4.  
  5. Remove the shift lever knob as follows:


    1. Slide the shaft collar downward.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 2 screws and knob.

  7. Remove the upper console panel rear as follows:


    1. Open the ash tray lid.
    2.  
    3. Lift the console panel toward you as shown.
    4.  
    5. Pass your finger in the shift lever groove and pull the console panel upward away from you.
    6.  
    7. Remove the panel.

  9. Remove the upper console panel as follows:


    1. Open the cup holder lid and pull up the holder. Do not pull the lid.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 6 screws and pry out of the upper console panel.
    4.  
    5. Remove cup holder from upper console panel.
    6.

  11. Remove the radio with A/C control panel assembly.

  13. Remove the 4 screws and separate the radio and A/C control panel assembly.

To install:

  1. Install the A/C control panel assembly and tighten the 4 screws.
  2.  
  3. Install the upper console panel as follows:

  5. Install the radio with A/C control panel assembly into the instrument panel.
    1. Install the cup holder into the upper console panel.
    2.  
    3. Install the upper console panel and tighten the 6 screws.
    4.  

  6.  
  7. Install the upper console panel rear.
  8.  
  9. Install the shift lever knob.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait 90 seconds before doing any further work while the airbag system de-energizes.
  4.  
  5. Remove the A/C control panel assembly as follows:


    1. Pull the A/C control towards the rear of the vehicle and detach the 6 clips.
    2.  
    3. Disconnect the 3 connectors and remove the A/C control panel assembly.
    4.

  7. Remove the console upper panel garnish front as follows:


    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2.  
    3. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the panel garnish from the A/C control panel assembly. Be sure to tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    4.

  9. Remove the heater control housing as follows:


    1. Remove the 6 screws.
    2.  
    3. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws. Then separate the heater control housing. Be sure to tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect the 2 cooler wires and remove the control housing
    6.

To install:

  1. Install the heater control housing as follows:


    1. Connect the 2 cooler wires to the heater control housing.
    2.  
    3. Push on the locking parts of the connectors to secure the cooler wires.
    4.  
    5. Attach the 4 claws and install the heater control housing with the 6 screws.
    6.

  3. Install the console upper panel garnish front, engaging the 2 claws and tightening the 2 screws.
  4.  
  5. Install the A/C control panel assembly as follows:


    1. Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
    2.  
    3. Push the A/C control panel assembly towards the front of the vehicle and engage the 6 clips.
    4.  

  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.  
  9. Perform system initialization procedure on the 2006 model.
