Removal & Installation

  1. Drain the engine coolant into a suitable container.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the inlet and outlet radiator hoses.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the oil cooler inlet and outlet hoses.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 2 upper supports, then remove the radiator assembly
  8.  
  9. Remove the lower radiator support.
  10.  
  11. Remove the 6 bolts, then remove the fan with the motor as an assembly.
  12.  
  13. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  14.  
  15. Fill the engine with the proper type and amount of engine coolant.
  16.  
  17. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks. Recheck the coolant level and add, as necessary.
  18.  

  1. Drain the engine coolant into a suitable container.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the radiator reserve tank hose or pipe
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the inlet and outlet radiator hoses.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the no. 2 and no. 3 oil cooler outlet hoses.
  8.  
  9. Remove upper radiator support bolts and remove the support.
  10.  
  11. Remove radiator assembly, as follows:
    1. Disconnect the fan motor connector.
    2.  
    3. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) switch no. 1 connector.
    4.  
    5. Remove the radiator from the body.
    6.

  13. Remove the lower radiator support.
  14.  
  15. Remove the 6 bolts, then remove the fan and motor assembly from the radiator.

To install:

  1. Install fan assembly w/motor to the radiator. Tighten the 6 bolts to 69 inch lbs. (7.8 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Install radiator assembly, as follows:
    1. Install the radiator to the body.
    2.  
    3. Connect the ECT switch no. 1 connector.
    4.  
    5. Attach the fan motor connector.
    6.

  5. Install radiator support upper. Tighten the 2 bolts to 9 ft. lbs. (12.8 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Installation of the remaining components is the reverse of the removal procedure.

  9. Fill the engine with the proper type and amount of engine coolant.
  10.  
  11. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks. Recheck the coolant level and add, as necessary.
