Removal & Installation



  1. Remove the negative battery cable from the battery.
  2.  
  3. Pull up on the Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB) harness connector release and remove connector.
  4.  
  5. Remove the pump connector from the CAB.
  6.  
  7. Remove the CAB mounting bolts.
  8.  
  9. Remove the CAB from the (Hydraulic Control Unit) HCU
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install CAB to the HCU .
  2.  
  3. Install mounting bolts. Tighten to 16 in lbs. (2 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the pump electrical connector to the CAB.
  6.  
  7. Install the wiring harness connector to the CAB and push down on the release to secure the connector.
  8.  
  9. Install negative battery cable to the battery
  10.  

  1. Remove the negative battery cable from the battery.
  2.  
  3. Pull up on the ABM harness connector
  4.  
  5. release and remove connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the pump connector from the ABM.
  8.  
  9. Remove the brake lines from the ABM.
  10.  
  11. Remove the ABM mounting nuts .
  12.  
  13. Remove the ABM unit from the vehicle.
  14.  
  15. Remove the ABM module mounting screws from the ABM unit.
  16.  

To install:


NOTE
If the ABM module is being replaced with a new ABM module it must be reprogrammed with the use of a scan tool.

  1. Install ABM module to the ABM unit.
  2.  
  3. Install mounting screws . Tighten to 16 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the ABM unit to the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Install the ABM mounting bracket nuts and tighten to 125 inch lbs. (14.1 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Install brake lines to the ABM and tighten to 180 inch lbs. (20 Nm).
  10.  
  11. Install the wiring harness connector to the ABM and push down on the release to secure the connector.
  12.  
  13. Install negative battery cable to the battery.
  14.  
  15. Bleed ABS brake system
  16.
