Removal & Installation



  1. Install prop rod on the brake pedal to keep pressure on the brake system.
  2.  
  3. Remove negative battery cable from the battery.
  4.  
  5. Pull up on the Controller Anti-lock Brake (CAB) harness connector release and remove connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove brake lines from the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU).
  8.  
  9. Remove HCU/CAB mounting nuts and bolt and remove HCU/CAB
  10.  

To install:


NOTE
If the CAB is being replaced with a new CAB is must be reprogrammed with the use of a DRB III.

  1. Install HCU/CAB on the mounting studs.
  2.  
  3. Install mounting nuts and bolt. Tighten to 102 inch lbs. (11.5 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install brake lines to the HCU and tighten to 170 inch lbs. (19 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Install wiring harness connector to the CAB and push down on the release to secure the connector.
  8.  
  9. Install negative battery cable to the battery.
  10.  
  11. Bleed ABS brake system
  12.  

  1. Install prop rod on the brake pedal to keep pressure on the brake system.
  2.  
  3. Remove negative battery cable from the battery.
  4.  
  5. Pull up on the Anti-Lock Brake Module (ABM) harness connector release and remove connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove brake lines from the ABM.
  8.  
  9. Remove ABM mounting nuts and remove ABM.
  10.  

To install:


NOTE
If the ABM module is being replaced with a new ABM module it must be reprogrammed with the use of a scan tool.

  1. Install ABM on the mounting studs.
  2.  
  3. Install mounting nuts. Tighten to 125 inch lbs. (14.1 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install brake lines to the ABM and tighten to 180 inch lbs (20 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Install wiring harness connector to the ABM and push down on the release to secure the connector.
  8.  
  9. Install negative battery cable to the battery.
  10.  
  11. Bleed ABS brake system.
  12.
