REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Front Turn Signal and Parking Lights



CRV MODELS AND V6 ODYSSEY MODELS
  1. Turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction from which the bulb is to be removed.
  2.  
  3. Using a flat blade screwdriver, remove the fasteners securing the inner fender behind the headlight and pull back on the inner fender liner.
  4.  
  5. Remove the bulb socket from the light assembly by turning it counterclockwise 1 / 4 of a turn.
  6.  
  7. To remove the turn signal/side marker bulb, press in slightly and turn it counterclockwise to release the bulb.
  8.  
  9. On CRV models, to remove the marker bulb, pull the bulb straight out of the socket.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

4-CYLINDER ODYSSEY MODELS
  1. Remove the Phillips screw at the top of the light assembly.
  2.  
  3. Remove the lens assembly forward away from the body.
  4.  
  5. Remove the bulb socket from the light assembly by turning it counterclockwise 1 / 4 of a turn.
  6.  
  7. To remove the turn signal/side marker bulb, press in slightly and turn it counterclockwise to release the bulb.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  10.  

Rear Turn Signal and Parking Lights

  1. Open the rear tailgate.
  2.  
  3. On CRV models, remove the fasteners securing the taillight assembly, and lift the assembly from the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. On 4-cylinder Odyssey models, swing the taillight cover open and remove it.
  6.  
  7. On V6 Odyssey models, perform the following:
    1. Carefully pry off the taillight trim covers.
    2.  
    3. Remove the two Phillips screws securing the taillight and slide the taillight assembly backwards away from the vehicle.
    4.

  9. Remove the bulb socket from the light assembly by turning it counterclockwise 1 / 4 of a turn.
  10.  
  11. To remove the bulb, carefully pull it straight out of the socket.
  12.  
  13. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Side Marker Light

The CRV is the only model covered in this guide that uses a separate side marker bulb for the rear. To replace the bulb, proceed as follows.

  1. Remove the rear mud flap to access the bulb socket.
  2.  
  3. Remove the bulb socket from the light assembly by turning it counterclockwise 1 / 4 of a turn.
  4.  
  5. To remove the bulb, carefully pull it straight out of the socket.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

High-mount Brake Light

  1. Open the tailgate.
  2.  
  3. Press in on the tabs on either side to release the cover for the third brake light.
  4.  
  5. Remove the bulb socket from the light assembly by turning it counterclockwise 1 / 4 of a turn.
  6.  
  7. To remove the bulb, carefully pull it straight out of the socket.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  10.  

4-CYLINDER ODYSSEY MODELS
  1. Remove the small rectangular covers on the left and right side of the LED brake light.
  2.  
  3. Remove the two screws securing the light in place.
  4.  
  5. Carefully pry the LED light assembly out of the spoiler.
  6.  
  7. Detach the electrical connector and remove the wire harness fastener.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  10.  

V6 ODYSSEY MODELS
  1. Remove the small end covers on the left and right side of the brake light lens.
  2.  
  3. Remove the two screws securing the light in place.
  4.  
  5. Carefully pull the light assembly out of the tailgate.
  6.  
  7. Remove the bulb socket from the light assembly by turning it counterclockwise 1 / 4 of a turn.
  8.  
  9. To remove the bulb, carefully pull it straight out of the socket.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Dome Light See Figures 7 and 8

  1. Using a small prytool, carefully remove the cover lens from the lamp assembly.
  2.  
  3. Remove the bulb from its retaining clip contacts. If the bulb has tapered ends, gently depress the spring clip/metal contact and disengage the light bulb, then pull it free of the two metal contacts.
  4.  

To install:
  1. Before installing the light bulb into the metal contacts, ensure that all electrical conducting surfaces are free of corrosion or dirt.
  2.  
  3. Position the bulb between the two metal contacts.
  4.  
  5. To ensure that the replacement bulb functions properly, activate the applicable switch to illuminate the bulb which was just replaced. If the replacement light bulb does not illuminate, either it is faulty or there is a problem in the bulb circuit or switch. Correct as necessary.
  6.  
  7. Install the cover lens until its retaining tabs are properly engaged.
  8.  

Cargo or Passenger Area Lamps

  1. Carefully pry the lens cover off of the light assembly
  2.  
  3. Remove the light from the light socket.
  4.  
  5. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  6.  

License Plate Lights

CRV MODELS
  1. Carefully pry open the bottom of the access panel in the rear tailgate near the luggage hook.
  2.  
  3. Remove the bulb socket from the light assembly by turning it counterclockwise 1 / 4 of a turn.
  4.  
  5. To remove the bulb, carefully pull it straight out of the socket.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

4-CYLINDER ODYSSEY MODELS
  1. Remove the 2 Phillips screws securing the lens assembly and remove the lens.
  2.  
  3. To remove the bulb, pull it carefully straight out of the socket.
  4.  
  5. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  6.  

V6 ODYSSEY MODELS
  1. Carefully pry open the left side of the license plate light.
  2.  
  3. Remove the bulb sockets from the light assembly by pressing the tabs and pulling it away.
  4.  
  5. To remove the bulb, pull it carefully straight out of the socket.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
