Removal & Installation

  1. Remove the right side interior panel insulator.
  2.  
  3. Move the Body Control Module (BCM) aside.

  5. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.

  7. Remove the blower motor retaining screws.
  8.  
  9. Remove the blower motor and fan assembly.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the blower motor and fan assembly.
    NOTE
    Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the retaining screws, and tighten the screws to 44 lb inches (5 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Connect the blower motor electrical connector.
  6.  
  7. Install the BCM into position.
  8.  
  9. Install the right side I/P insulator.
  10.  

  1. Remove the right closeout panel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the blower motor wire harness connector.

  5. Cut out the blower motor using a utility knife in the narrow groove of the lower case.
    NOTE
    Cut through the case as straight as possible because the motor cup must be replaced.

  7. In order to prevent damage to the component, do not cut any deeper than necessary to remove the motor cup.
  8.  
  9. Remove the blower motor.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Install the motor blower seal.

  3. Install the blower motor.
  4.  
  5. Install the blower motor attachment ring if reusing the blower motor.
  6.  
  7. Tighten the blower motor screws, and tighten the screws to 13 lb inches (1.5 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Install the blower motor wire harness connector.
  10.  
  11. Install the right closeout panel.
  12.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the right closeout panel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the blower motor wire harness connector.

  7. Cut out the blower motor using a utility knife in the narrow groove of the lower case.
    NOTE
