These vehicles are equipped with sealed hub and bearing assemblies. The hub and bearing assemblies are non-serviceable. If the assembly is damaged, the complete unit must be replaced.

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Wheel
     
    Brake drum, if equipped
     
    Brake rotor, if equipped
     
    4 hub/bearing assembly-to-knuckle nuts
     
    Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) speed sensor wire from the hub/bearing assembly
     
    Hub/bearing assembly

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    Hub/bearing assembly
     
    ABS wheel speed sensor
     
    Hub/bearing-to-knuckle nuts. Torque the nuts 47 ft. lbs. (63 Nm).
     
    Brake drum, if equipped
     
    Brake rotor, if equipped
     
    Wheel. Torque the bolts to 100 ft. lbs. (140 Nm).

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove the brake rotor.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the electrical connector from the wheel speed sensor, if equipped with Antilock Brake System (ABS).
  10.  
  11. Remove the stabilizer link bolt at the knuckle and position the stabilizer link out of the way in order to provide access to the wheel bearing hub nuts.
  12.  
  13. Remove the 4 wheel bearing hub assembly nuts.
  14.  
  15. Remove the wheel bearing hub assembly from the knuckle.

To install:

  1. Install the wheel bearing hub assembly to the knuckle.
  2.  
  3. Install the 4 wheel bearing hub assembly nuts and tighten to 47 ft. lbs. (63 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Connect the stabilizer link bolt at the knuckle and tighten to 41 ft. lbs. (55 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Connect the electrical connector to the wheel speed sensor, if equipped with ABS.
  8.  
  9. Install the brake rotor.
  10.  
  11. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
  12.  
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14.
