Nissan Maxima 2007-2008

The sensor detects the accelerator position and sends a signal to the ECM. The Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) sensor has two sensors. These sensors are a kind of potentiometers which transform the accelerator pedal position into output voltage, and emit the voltage signal to the ECM.

Removal & Installation

  1. Unplug Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) sensor connector.
  2.  
  3. Remove accelerator pedal retaining bolts.
  4.  

To install:

  1. Installation is reverse of removal.
  2.  

Testing



Specific to:

Nissan 350Z 2007-2008

Nissan Maxima 2007-2008

  1. Test voltage at terminal 98 of ECM for Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) sensor 2:

    IG on engine off pedal fully released: 0.28 to 0.48V
     
    IG on engine off pedal fully depressed: more than 2.0V
     

  2.  
  3. Test voltage at terminal 106 of ECM for APP sensor 1:

    IG on engine off pedal fully released: 0.65 to 0.87V
     
    IG on engine off pedal fully depressed: more than 4.3V
