Operation

Specific to:

Nissan 350Z 2007-2008

Nissan Maxima 2007-2008

The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor detects intake air temperature and transmits a signal to the ECM.

Removal & Installation

Specific to:

Nissan 350Z 2007-2008

Nissan Maxima 2007-2008

  1. Disconnect the harness connector from the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
  2.
  3. Disconnect the tube clamp at the electric throttle control actuator and at the fresh air intake tube.
  4.
  5. Remove air cleaner to electric throttle control actuator tube, air cleaner case (upper) with the MAF sensor attached.
  6.
  7. Remove MAF sensor from air cleaner case (upper), as necessary.
  8.
  9. Remove resonator in the fender, lifting left fender protector, as necessary.
  10.

To install:

  1. Installation is reverse of removal.
  2.

Testing

Specific to:

Nissan 350Z 2007-2008

Nissan Maxima 2007-2008

  1. Test voltage and resistance at ECM.
  2.
  3. This data is reference value and is measured between ECM terminal 34 (Intake Air Temperature sensor) and ground.
    NOTE
Do not use ECM ground terminals when measuring input/output voltage. Doing so may result in damage to the ECM's transistor. Use a ground other than ECM terminals, such as the ground.

    Intake air temperature 77°F (25°C) Voltage:3.3V Resistance: 1.800-2.200 Kiliohms

    Intake air temperature 176°F (80°C) Voltage:1.2V Resistance: 0.283-0.359 Kiliohms
