REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
It is recommended that you not attempt to work on the injection nozzles of your Mazda, as this service requires special tools and highly specialized training. However, if you keep all parts clean and seal off openings, you may want to remove the nozzles and take them to a qualified professional for service.
- Remove the high pressure and return injection lines.
- Unscrew the nozzles to be removed with a wrench located on the larger flats of the nozzle holder. Make sure to remove the ring-type washer and the corrugated gasket underneath each nozzle. During installation, you will have to provide new replacements for these parts.
- Position a new washer on the bottom of each nozzle, then install a new, corrugated gasket on the underside of the nozzle with the red painted side facing upward.
- Carefully screw the nozzles into the cylinder head. Torque them by the large flats of the nozzle holders to 43-51 ft. lbs. (58-69 Nm). Install the injection lines in reverse of their removal procedure.
