BLEEDING THE SYSTEM

  1. Raise and support the front end on jackstands.
  2.
  3. Check the fluid level and fill it, if necessary.
  4.
  5. Start the engine and let it idle. Turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock, several times. Recheck the fluid level.
  6.
  7. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
  8.
  9. With the engine idling, turn the wheel lock-to-lock several times again. If noise is heard in the fluid lines, air is present.
  10.
  11. Put the wheels in the straight ahead position and shut off the engine.
  12.
  13. Check the fluid level. If it is higher than when you last checked it, air is in the system. Repeat Step 5. Keep repeating Step 5 until no air is present.
