REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Front Door Speakers

See Figures 1, 2 and 3

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.

  1. Remove the inner door trim panel. Refer to the procedure in Body & Trim .
  2.  
  3. Remove the speaker retaining screws.
  4.  
  5. Pull out the speaker and unplug the electrical connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the speaker.
  8.  


WARNING
Handle the speaker carefully to avoid damaging the cone during removal and installation.

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  

Rear Speakers
REAR SHELF MOUNTED SPEAKERS

See Figures 4, 5, 6 and 7

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. On 1990-92 626, MX-6, 1990-94 13 and Protege, remove the rear package trim panel. Refer to the procedure in Body & Trim .

  1. On all other models, remove the speaker cover by carefully prying it off.

  1. Remove the speaker retaining screws.

REAR QUARTER MOUNTED SPEAKERS
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the speaker cover.
  4.  
  5. Remove the speaker retaining screws.
  6.  
  7. Unplug the electrical connector.
  8.  
  9. Remove the speaker.
  10.  


WARNING
Handle the speaker carefully to avoid damaging the cone during removal and installation.
