Removal & Installation



  1. Remove the transaxle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the clutch and pressure plate.
  4.  
  5. Hold the flywheel with the tool illustrated.
  6.  
  7. Loosen the bolts in the sequence shown.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern. Tighten the 2.0L engine bolts to 71-75 ft. lbs. (97-102 Nm) and tighten the 2.5L engines to 45-49 ft. lbs. (61-67 Nm).

  4.  

  1. Remove the transaxle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the clutch and pressure plate.
  4.  
  5. Hold the flywheel with the tool illustrated.
  6.  
  7. Loosen the bolts in a criss-cross pattern.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern. Tighten the bolts to 71-75 ft. lbs. (97-102 Nm).
  4.  

  1. Remove the transaxle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the clutch and pressure plate.
  4.  
  5. Hold the flywheel with the tool illustrated.
  6.  
  7. Loosen the bolts in the sequence shown.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern. Tighten the bolts to 71-75 ft. lbs. (97-102 Nm).

  11. Loosen the bolts in a criss-cross pattern.
  12.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern. Tighten the bolts to 80-85 ft. lbs. (108-116 Nm).

  1. Remove the transaxle.

  3. Remove the clutch and pressure plate.

  5. Hold the flywheel with the tool illustrated.

  7. Loosen the bolts in a criss-cross pattern.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern. Tighten the bolts to 80-85 ft. lbs. (108-116 Nm).
