Possible Causes:



IMRC control circuit shorted to ground or to system power (B+)
 
IMRC shutter valve actuator is stuck closed
 
IMRC vacuum hose is loose or disconnected
 
PCM has failed

Intake Manifold Runner Control Circuit Malfunction

Possible Causes:



IMRC control circuit is open
 
IMRC control circuit is shorted to ground
 
IMRC power circuit open or shorted to ground (check the fuse)
 
PCM has failed

Possible Causes:



VRIS control circuit is open or shorted to ground

Possible Causes:



+BB circuit is open
 
+BB circuit is shorted to ground (check for a blown fuse)

Possible Causes:



PCM link to the TCM is open
 
PCM link to the TCM is shorted to ground
 
PCM link to the TCM is shored to power

Key (the transponder) is damaged or has failed
 
PCM communication line to Immobilizer is open, shorted to ground or shorted to system power

Perform the Immobilizer "code word" reprogramming procedure

Check for any related Technical Service Bulletins
 
Perform the Immobilizer "Key ID" reprogramming procedure

PCM Output Device Circuit Malfunction

Possible Causes:



Output device (relay or solenoid) control circuit(s) shorted to ground between the device and the PCM
 
If none of the output device control circuits are shorted to ground (key on, voltage drop check), the PCM has failed

Key Identification Number Not Registered In The PCM

Possible Causes:



Immobilizer problem during transformation of the "code word"
 
PCM problem during transformation of the "code word"
 
Immobilizer Unit has failed
 
PCM has failed

Key Identification Number Does Not Match In The PCM

Possible Causes:



An "unregistered" key was used during Step 3 of the Immobilizer Unit replacement procedure
 
A problem occurred during transformation of the Key ID number stored in the PCM

Code Word or Key ID Number Read/Write Error in the PCM

Possible Causes:



Perform a PCM "reset" procedure - if the same trouble code resets, the PCM has failed
 
Reprogram the Immobilizer Unit after the PCM is replaced

Possible Causes:



Perform a PCM "reset" procedure
 
Attempt to start the engine three (3) times
 
If the code resets, check for other codes related to a No Start
 
Perform engine diagnostics to determine the cause of No Start
