Description & Operation
The CMP sensor provides the camshaft position information, called the CMP signal, which is used by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) for fuel synchronization.
Removal & Installation
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the CMP sensor connector.
- Remove the CMP sensor installation bolt.
- Remove the CMP sensor.
Make sure that the CMP sensor is free of any metallic shavings or particles.
NOTEIf metallic shavings or particles are found on the sensor, clean them off.
Install the CMP sensor in the reverse order of removal. Tightening torque is 69.5-95.4 in lbs
