Lower Control Arms

Bushing Replacement



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Position the control arm into a vise. Cut away the stopper rubber and the projecting rubber from the front bushing and press out the bushing
  4.  
  5. Remove the rear bushing using a press and tools 49 U034 204 and 49 S010 301.
  6.  
  7. Remove the shock absorber bushing using a press and tools 49 U034 204 and 49 S032 333.
  8.

  1. When installing the rear bushing on the lower arm, align the mark of the lower arm and the holes of the bushing as illustrated, set the arm onto the press and press the bushings into position.
  2.  
  3. Apply soapy water to the new control arm bushing.
  4.  
  5. Install the rear bushing using a press and tools 49 U034 204 and 49 S010 301.
  6.  
  7. Install the front bushing using a vise.
  8.  
  9. Install the shock absorber bushing using a press and tools 49 U034 204 and 49 S032 333.
  10.  

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the strut cross brace in the engine compartment.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Front wheel
     
    Brake caliper and wire aside
