  2.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.
  5. If removing right valve cover, remove the upper intake manifold.
  6.
  7. Remove the crankcase ventilation tube from the valve cover
    NOTE
When removing the coil-on-plugs, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.

  8.
  9. Remove the three coil-on-plugs, electrical connectors, bolts and coils
  10.
  11. If removing the right valve cover, perform the following steps:

Remove the wiring harness nuts and disconnect the oxygen sensor. electrical connectors.

Disconnect the radio ignition interference capacitor.

Separate the harness from the center locating pins and set aside.

  12.
  13. If removing the left valve cover, perform the following steps:

Wiring harness from the valve cover studs

    Engine lift bracket

Power steering hose and mounting bracket bolt

  14.
  15. Remove the valve cover bolts, studs and the valve cover
    NOTE
Clean the valve cover sealing area before installing a new gasket.
