Power Windows



Diagnosis & Testing

If all power windows are inoperative, inspect the following:



Wiring, connectors and circuitry
 
Accessory delay relay
 
Driver window control switch
 
Smart junction box
 

If a single power window is inoperative and it is the drivers window, inspect the following:



Wiring, connectors and circuitry
 
Driver window motor
 
Driver window control switch
 

If a single power window is inoperative and it is the passenger front window, inspect the following:



Wiring, connectors and circuitry
 
Passenger front window motor
 
Passenger front window control switch
 
Driver window control switch
 

If any of the rear power windows are inoperative, inspect the following:



Wiring, connectors and circuitry
 
Rear window motor
 
Rear window control switch
 
Driver window control switch
 

If the -one touch down- feature is inoperative, inspect the driver window control switch

Removal & Installation
Motor & Regulator
Front Window
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the front door trim panel.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the window control switch electrical connector.

  9. Remove the screw and the front door trim panel bracket.
  10.  
  11. Position the water shield aside.
  12.  
  13. Connect the window control switch electrical connector.
  14.  
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
  16.  
  17. Lower the front door window glass to gain access to the screws.
  18.  
  19. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  20.  
  21. Disconnect the window control switch electrical connector

  23. Remove the front door window glass screws.
  24.  
  25. Support the front door window glass in the full up position.

  27. Disconnect the front door power window regulator motor electrical connector.

  29. Remove the front door power window regulator nuts and bolts and assembly.
  30.  
  31. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Cycle the door window glass to make sure of correct door window glass engagement.

Rear Window
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the rear door trim panel.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the window control switch electrical connector.
  8.  
  9. Remove the screw and the rear door trim panel bracket.
  10.  
  11. Position the water shield aside.
  12.  
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
  14.  
  15. Connect the window control switch electrical connector.
  16.  
  17. Lower the rear door window glass to gain access to the screws.
  18.  
  19. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  20.  
  21. Disconnect the window control switch electrical connector.

  23. Remove the rear door window glass screws.
  24.  
  25. Support the rear door window glass in the full up position.
  26.  
  27. Disconnect the rear door power window regulator electrical connector.

Removing power window regulator assembly

  1. Remove the rear door power window regulator assembly bolts and nuts.
  2.  
  3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  4.  
  5. Cycle the door glass to make sure of correct window glass engagement.
  6.  

Switch

NOTE
The removal and installation procedures for all window control switches are similar.

  5. Remove the front door trim panel or the rear door trim panel.
  6.  
  7. Release the locking clips and remove the window control switch.
  8.  
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
