Mazda Trucks 1972-1986 Repair Guide

General Information

The clutch is a dry single disc type, consisting of a clutch disc, clutch cover and pressure plate and a clutch release mechanism. It is hydraulically operated by a firewall mounted master cylinder and a clutch release slave cylinder mounted on the clutch housing.

The clutch driven disc may contain asbestos, which has been determined to be a cancer causing agent. Never clean clutch surfaces with compressed air! Avoid inhaling any dust from any clutch surface! When cleaning clutch surfaces, use a commercially available brake cleaning fluid.
