The B1600 uses four emission control systems:



Throttle Positioner system
 
Positive Crankcase Ventilation system
 
Evaporative Emission Control system
 
Thermactor Air Injection system.
 

The B1800 and B2000 employ seven basic systems:



Thermactor Air Injection system
 
Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system
 
Evaporative Emission Control system
 
Deceleration Control system
 
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) is used on 1976 California Mazdas with manual transmission, and all 1977 and later models
 
Catalytic Converter, used on some 1976-78 California trucks and most 1979 and later models
 
Spark Delay system is used on 1977 and later 1.8 and 2.0 engines
