REMOVAL & INSTALLATION




WARNING
Never operate the radio with one of the speaker disconnected. Damage to the radio can occur.

Door Mounted Speakers

See Figures 1, 2 and 3

  1. Remove the door trim panel.
  2.  
  3. If necessary, peel away the plastic inner liner.
  4.  
  5. Remove the speaker attaching screws.
  6.  
  7. Pull the speaker out from the door frame and disconnect the wire harness plug.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  10.  

Body Mounted Rear Speakers

  1. Gently pry the speaker grille from the trim panel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the 4 screws that mount the speaker unit to the mounting bracket.
  4.  
  5. Pull the speaker out from the trim panel and disconnect the wire harness plug.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  8.  

MPV MODELS

  1. Remove the rear interior side trim.
  2.  
  3. Remove the three speaker mounting screws.
  4.  
  5. Carefully pull the speaker out and disconnect the wire harness plug.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  8.  

PICKUP (STANDARD)

  1. Remove the seat belt upper anchor retaining bolt.
  2.  
  3. Remove the back upper garnish and B pillar trim.
  4.  
  5. Remove the 4 speaker mounting screws.
  6.  
  7. Carefully pull the speaker out and disconnect the wire harness plug.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  10.  

PICKUP (CAB PLUS)

  1. Remove the seat belt upper anchor retaining bolt.
  2.  
  3. Remove the quarter window glass.
  4.  
  5. Remove the back upper garnish, B pillar upper and lower trim.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 3 speaker mounting screws.
  8.  
  9. Carefully pull the speaker out and disconnect the wire harness plug.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Dash Mounted Speakers

This procedure applies to both right and left side dash mounted speakers.

  1. Remove the dashboard end panel by carefully prying outward to disengage the retaining clips.
  2.  
  3. Remove all of the dashboard lower panel mounting screws.
  4.  
  5. Carefully pull the lower panel outward and unplug the speaker wiring connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the speaker mounting fasteners and remove from the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  10.  

PICKUP

This procedure applies to both right and left side dash mounted speakers.

  1. Remove the speaker grille mounting screws. Remove the speaker grille.
  2.  
  3. Remove the speaker unit mounting screws.
  4.  
  5. Carefully pull the speaker unit out just enough to unplug the wiring harness.
  6.  
  7. Remove the speaker from the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
