Removal & Installation



M111
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the screws securing the center cover on the cylinder head, then remove the cover.
  4.  
  5. Label, then detach the electrical connections and spark plug wires from the coils.
  6.  
  7. Remove the screws securing the coils, then remove the coils from the engine.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the mounting screw until just snug.

M112 And M113
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the upper part of the air cleaner to access the coil packs.
  4.  
  5. Detach the electrical connector and spark plug wires from the coil pack.
  6.  
  7. Remove the mounting screw, then remove the coil pack.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the mounting screw until just snug. Be sure to connect the correct plug wire to the correct coil terminal. Check the terminal a and b identification stamps on the coil, match that to the a and b identification stamps on the cylinder head between the spark plugs.

M271 And M272
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the engine cover; if necessary, remove the air filter housing to gain access to it.
  4.  
  5. Detach the electrical connector from the coil pack.
  6.  
  7. Remove the mounting screw, then remove the coil pack by pulling it straight up and out off of the spark plug.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the mounting screw until just snug.
