Removal & Installation

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Empty the fuel tank.
  4.  
  5. Detach the electrical connections.
  6.  
  7. Using a spanner wrench, loosen, then remove the right and left fuel sensor assembly.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal. Use a new seal; it can be lightly oiled to aid in installation.

  1. The fuel level sender (B4) and fuel pump assembly (M3) form a unit and cannot be removed separately from each other. Refer to the Fuel Pump removal procedure.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.

  3. Empty the fuel tank.
  4.  
  5. Remove the trim panel coverings in the trunk to access the fuel tank; remove the fuel tank rear panel.
  6.  
  7. Detach the electrical connection.
  8.  
  9. Using a spanner wrench, loosen, then remove the fuel sensor assembly.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of removal. Use a new seal; it can be lightly oiled to aid in installation.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
    NOTE
    The roof must be closed in order to access the fuel level sensor assembly.

  3. Empty the fuel tank.
  4.  
  5. Remove the top of the fuel tank cover.
  6.  
  7. Remove the fuel filter.
  8.  
  9. Press together the locking clips, then remove the sensor assembly.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to fully seat the assembly.
