Removal & Installation
The upper ball joint is an integral part of the upper control arm. Control arm replacement is necessary if the ball joint becomes worn or damaged.
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
- Remove the front wheel and support the lower control arm with a jack.
Remove or disconnect the following:
Electrical connections if equipped
Install or connect the following:
Control arm in the bearing shell. Torque the self-locking nut to 55 ft. lbs. (75 Nm) after the weight of the vehicle is on the suspension
- Front wheel
Lower the vehicle to the floor and tighten the control arm through-bolt and nut to the specification.
