Relieving Fuel System Pressure

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Connect a fuel pressure gauge with a pressure release valve to the service port on the fuel supply rail.
  6.  
  7. Place the fuel release tube into a container and open the valve.
  8.  
  9. Remove the fuel pressure gauge from the service port on the fuel supply rail.
  10.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Locate the electric fuel pump fuse and remove it from the fuse box.
  4.  


NOTE
If the fuel pump fuse cannot be located, disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from the pump itself and perform the procedure.

  1. Start the engine and allow it to idle until the engine stalls from lack of fuel.
  2.  
  3. Crank the engine over for an additional 15-20 seconds.
  4.  
  5. Reinstall the pump fuse when repairs are completed.
  6.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Connect a fuel pressure gauge with a pressure release valve to the service port on the fuel supply rail.
  6.  
  7. Place the fuel release tube into a container and open the valve.
  8.  
  9. Remove the fuel pressure gauge from the service port on the fuel supply rail.
  10.

  9. Remove the fuel pressure gauge from the service port on the fuel supply rail.

  5. Connect a fuel pressure gauge with a pressure release valve to the service port on the fuel supply rail.

  7. Place the fuel release tube into a container and open the valve.

  9. Remove the fuel pressure gauge from the service port on the fuel supply rail.
