Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the rear axle shaft.
  6.  
  7. Remove the wheel.
  8.  
  9. Remove the brake disc and the parking brake shoes.
    NOTE
    Removal of the hub and bearing requires the use of the following extraction and installation tools or their equivalent: 202 589 04 43 00, 140 589 08 43 00, 124 589 02 34 00, 001 589 50 33 00 and 140 589 01 34 00.

  11. Pull the hub from the knuckle using the hub extraction tool.
  12.  
  13. Remove the circlip from in front of the bearing.
  14.  
  15. Pull the bearing out of the hub using the bearing extraction tool.
  16.  
  17. Pull the inner bearing race from the hub.
  18.  
  19. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure the circlip is fully seated in its groove.
