REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Remove the brake caliper.
  2.  
  3. Remove the brake disc.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the lower spring with brake pliers.
  6.  
  7. Turn the rear axle shaft flange so that one hole faces the spring. With brake spring removal pliers, disconnect and remove the spring from the cover plate.
  8.  
  9. Remove the spring on the other brake shoe in a similar manner.
  10.  
  11. Pull both brake shoes apart so that they can be removed past the rear axle shaft flange.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the upper return spring from the brake shoes and remove the adjuster.
  14.  
  15. Force the pin out of the expanding lock and remove the expanding lock from the brake cable.
  16.  
  17. Remove the brake shoes.
  18.  
  19. Installation is the reverse of removal. Coat all bearing and sliding surfaces with Molykotereg; prior to installation. Attach the lower spring with the small eye to the brake shoes.
  20.  
  21. Adjust the parking brakes.
