ADJUSTMENT

  1. If the floor pedal can be depressed more than two notches before actuating the brakes, adjust by jacking up the rear of the car, then removing one lug bolt and adjusting the star wheel with a screwdriver.
  2.
  3. Move the screwdriver upward on the left (driver's) side, downward on the right (passenger's) side to tighten the shoes.
  4.
  5. When the wheel is locked, back off about 2-4 clicks.
  6.
  7. With this type system, the adjusting bolt on the cable relay lever only serves to equalize cable length; therefore, do not attempt to adjust the brakes by turning this bolt.
