The type of emission control system, model year and important tune-up data can be found on the Emission Control Information Plate, which is attached to the crossmember above the radiator. Beginning with 1977 models, there is also a plate attached to the drivers side door pillar, which tells whether the vehicle is equipped with a catalytic converter. The type of emission system can also be identified by the color coding of the plate.
