  1. Remove the padded plate. It is best to pull at one corner near the wheel spokes.
  2.  
  3. Unscrew the hex nut from the steering shaft and remove the spring washer and the steering wheel.
  4.  
  5. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure that the alignment mark on the steering shaft is pointing upward and be sure that the slightly curved spoke of the steering wheel is down.
