  1. Unscrew the cap nut at the base of the wiper arm and remove it. Make sure that you get the spring washer.
  2.
  3. Remove the wiper arm.
  4.
  5. Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
  6.

The wiper shaft has a cone end with serrations on which the wiper arm is mounted. New wiper arms have no serrations on the inside cone. When the cap nut is tightened, the shaft serrations dig into the smooth surface of the inside of the wiper arm cone. If the serrations on the inside cone of an old wiper arm are chewed up, loosely install the wiper arm on the shaft and wiggle it back and forth until the old serrations are gone. Adjust the arm and then tighten it down; this will form new serrations.

Other Models

On the 190D and 190E, the wiper arm is removed by lifting the cover at the bottom of the arm and removing the retaining nut.

  1. Lift the wiper arm so that it is at a 90- angle to the windshield.
  2.
  3. Disengage the lock on the mounting nut covering cap by lifting the cap slightly upward.
  4.
  5. Continue to hold the cap in a slightly raised position and then lower the wiper arm to the windshield. This should allow the cap to pivot all the way open.
  6.
  7. Unscrew the mounting nut and remove the wiper arm.
  8.
  9. Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
