    Stabilizer Bar (Sway Bar)

    Removal & Installation



    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2.  
    3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
    4.  
    5. Remove the sway bar (stabilizer bar) link nut from the lower control arm on each side of the sway bar.
    6.  
    7. Rotate the sway bar to separate the sway bar links from the lower control arms.
    8.  
    9. Remove the sway bar bracket bolts and remove the brackets.
    10.  
    11. Remove the sway bar from the vehicle.
    12.  
    13. If the sway bar is being replaced, remove the sway bar links by prying them off of the studs on each end of the sway bar and remove the rubber insulators from the sway bar.

    To install:

    1. Connect the rubber insulators and the sway bar links if removed.
    2.  
    3. Place the sway bar into position.
    4.  
    5. Reinstall the sway bar brackets. Torque the bracket bolts to 14-19 ft. lbs. (19-26 Nm).
    6.  
    7. Fit the sway bar link ends to the lower control arms.
    8.  
    9. Reinstall the sway bar link bushings if removed, and the sway bar link nuts. Torque the sway bar link nuts to 22-30 ft. lbs. (30-40 Nm).
    10.  
    11. Lower the vehicle.
    12.  
    13. Connect the negative battery cable.
    14.  
    15. Road test the vehicle and check for proper operation.
