Removal & Installation



  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove two screws and disconnect the electrical connectors and then remove the junction block from the instrument panel.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the EBCM electrical connectors.
  6.  
  7. Remove the three bolts (1) and remove the EBCM from the vehicle.

To install:

  1. Install the EBCM (2) to the vehicle; secure with three bolts and tighten to 71 inch lbs. (8 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Connect the EBCM electrical connectors.
  4.  
  5. Install the junction block to the instrument panel and reconnect all electrical connectors.
  6.  
  7. Secure junction block with two screws.
  8.  
  9. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - ABS.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.  

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the EBCM harness connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 6 brake pipes from the brake modulator assembly.
  8.  
  9. Plug the brake pipes in order to prevent loss or contamination of brake fluid.
  10.  
  11. Remove 3 nuts and the brake pressure modulator assembly from the bracket.

To install:

  1. Install the brake modulator assembly to the bracket. Secure with 3 nuts and tighten to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Remove the plugs from brake pipes and connect the brake pipes to the brake modulator assembly. Tighten the brake pipe fittings nuts to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Connect the EBCM electrical connector.
  6.  
  7. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  8.  
  9. Bleed the brake system.
  10.  
  11. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - ABS.
  12.  
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
  14.
