To install:

When installing a new compressor, add 3.0 fl oz (90 cc) of refrigerant oil to the refrigeration system.

  1. Install the compressor to the compressor bracket. Secure the compressor with the 3 bolts.
  2.
  3. Tighten the bolts to 16.5-20 ft. lbs. (22.5-27.5 Nm) in the following sequence:
    1. The front lower bolt
    2.
    3. The front upper bolt
    4.
    5. The rear bolt
    6.

  4.
  5. Install the compressor drive belt.
  6.
  7. Ensure that the belt is correctly aligned on the compressor pulley, on the crankshaft pulley, and on the power steering pulley, if equipped.
  8.
  9. Adjust the drive belt tension.
  10.
  11. Connect the compressor clutch electrical connector.
  12.
  13. Secure the electrical connector wire with the clamps.
  14.
  15. Coat the new discharge hose O-rings and the new suction hose O-rings with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
  16.
  17. Install the discharge hose and the suction hose to the compressor. Tighten the compressor discharge hose bolt and the compressor suction hose bolt to 87 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  18.
  19. Install the engine splash shield.
  20.
  21. Lower the vehicle.
  22.
  23. Connect the negative battery cable.
  24.
  25. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system.
  26.
  27. Operate the A/C system, and inspect for refrigerant leaks.
  28.
