  1. Install or connect the following:

Camshaft sprocket. Use a wrench to turn the camshafts to align the timing marks

Crankshaft bolt and turn it until the keyway faces upward. When aligned properly, torque the sprocket bolts to 33 ft. lbs. (44 Nm).

Front seal and tap it into position until the surface is flush against the retainer edge

    Timing chain

    Crankshaft timing sprocket

Timing chain shoe and torque the bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm)

Timing chain damper and torque the bolt to 14 ft. lbs. (18 Nm)

Crankshaft sensor reluctor and make certain that the F is facing outward

Timing chain cover after applying a sealant to the mating surface. Torque the 10mm bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm) and the 12mm bolts to 14 ft. lbs. (18 Nm).

Install the timing chain tensioner by depressing the plunger and applying the hook to the pin. Torque the bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).

Right side engine mounting bracket and torque the bolts to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm)

Drive belt tensioner and torque the bolt to 51 ft. lbs. (69 Nm) and the nut to 21 ft. lbs. (29 Nm)

CKP sensor and torque the bolt to 106 inch lbs. (12 Nm)

Crankshaft pulley and torque the pulley to 105 ft. lbs. (142 Nm)

Power steering pump and torque the bolts to 32 ft. lbs. (43 Nm)

    Power steering oil pressure switch

  2.
  3. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise 1 revolution and verify that the plunger on the timing chain tensioner has released. If the plunger does not release perform the following steps:
    1. Step 1: Press the timing chain dampener into the tensioner.
    2.
    3. Step 2: Release the hook from the pin.
    4.
    5. Step 3: Verify proper timing chain alignment after the plunger is released.
    6.

  4.
  5. Install or connect the following:

    Cylinder head cover

Right side engine mount and insulator. Torque the bolts to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).

    Alternator

  6.
  7. Remove the engine support fixture.
  8.
  9. Install or connect the following:

    Windshield washer reservoir

    Negative battery cable

  10.
  11. Fill the cooling system.
  12.
  13. Start the vehicle and check for leaks, repair if necessary.
