Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction

Possible Causes:



Speedometer pinion is damaged or has failed
 
VSS signal circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
VSS power circuit is open (check for 9v VREF input from PCM)
 
VSS ground circuit is open between sensor and chassis ground
 
VSS is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed (the PCM provides 5v on the VSS signal circuit)

Transmission Control Module Signal

Possible Causes:



Clear the trouble codes and retest for this trouble code. If the same trouble code resets, the TCM has failed and must be replaced to repair this problem.

Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction

Possible Causes:



P/N switch signal circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
P/N switch power circuit is open (check for power at MFI relay)
 
P/N switch is out-of-adjustment
 
P/N switch is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P0705



A/T Check Shifter Signal Circuit Malfunction

Possible Causes:



Incorrect TCM part number for a given application
 
Manual Lever (Rooster Comb) is worn out (check the contacts)
 
TR sensor signal circuit is open, shorted to ground or to power
 
TR sensor is damaged or has failed
 
TCM has failed

No CCD Messages Received From The TCM

Possible Causes:



Clear the trouble codes and retest for this trouble code. If the same trouble code resets, the PCM has failed and must be replaced to repair this problem.

A/T Pulse generator (+) circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
A/T Pulse generator (-) circuit is open or shorted to ground

A/T pulse generator is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P1738



A/T High Temperature Operations Activated

Possible Causes:



Customer driving pattern (towing) requires additional cooling
 
Engine thermostat is stuck closed, or low engine coolant level
 
Radiator corroded or clogged, air passages filled with debris
 
Transmission fluid is overfull
 
Transmission oil cooler clogged or restricted
