Shock Absorbers

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Luggage floor rear board
     
    Tonneau cover
     
    Luggage floor front board
     
    Parcel strap hook
     
    Luggage floor side board
     
    Rear end trim
     
    Luggage floor carpet bracket
     
    Wheel and tire
     
    Lower shock absorber bolt and washer, and separate the shock from the knuckle
     
    Upper shock mounting nuts
     
    Shock absorber from the vehicle

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    Shock absorber. Tighten the upper nuts to 34 ft. lbs. (45 Nm) and the lower shock-to-knuckle bolt hand-tight.
     
    Wheel and tire
     
    Luggage floor carpet bracket
     
    Rear end trim
     
    Luggage floor side board
     
    Parcel strap hook
     
    Luggage floor front board
     
    Tonneau cover
     
    Luggage floor rear board
     

  2.  
  3. With the weight of the vehicle resting on the suspension, tighten the lower shock-to-knuckle bolt to 74 ft. lbs. (100 Nm).
  4.  

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Luggage floor rear board
     
    Tonneau cover
     
    Luggage floor front board
     
    Parcel strap hook
     
    Luggage floor side board
     
    Rear end trim
     
    Luggage floor carpet bracket
     

  4.  
  5. Raise and support the vehicle safely.

    Wheel and tire
     
    Lower shock absorber bolt and washer, and separate the shock from the knuckle
     
    Upper shock mounting nuts
     
    Shock absorber from the vehicle

  6.  

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    Shock absorber. Tighten the upper nuts to 34 ft. lbs. (45 Nm) and the lower shock-to-knuckle bolt hand-tight.

    Rear end trim
     
    Luggage floor side board
     
    Parcel strap hook
     
    Luggage floor front board
     
    Tonneau cover
     
    Luggage floor rear board
