Brake Caliper

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Wheel and tire assembly
     
    Brake hose from the caliper brake line and remove the retaining clip
     
    Caliper guide pin bolts
     
    Caliper, by lifting it from the caliper support
     

  6.

To install:

  1. Make sure the disc brake pad shims and clips are properly positioned.
  2.  
  3. Position the caliper over the rotor so the caliper engages the adapter correctly
  4.  
  5. Install or connect the following:

    Mounting pins and tighten to 54 ft. lbs. (74 Nm)
     
    Brake hose to the caliper brake line
     
    Retaining clip
     

  6.  
  7. Bleed the brake system.

    Wheel and tire assembly
     

  8.  

  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the brake hose from the caliper brake line and remove the retaining clip.
  6.  
  7. Remove the caliper guide pin bolts.
  8.  
  9. Lift the caliper from the caliper support.

To install:

  1. Make sure the disc brake pad shims and clips are properly positioned.
  2.  
  3. Position the caliper over the rotor so the caliper engages the adapter correctly. Install the mounting pins and tighten to 54 ft. lbs. (74 Nm) .
  4.  
  5. Connect the brake hose to the caliper brake line and install the retaining clip.
  6.  
  7. Bleed the brake system.
  8.  
  9. Install the wheel and tire assembly.
  10.
